Protecting One of the Most Vulnerable Areas Underneath Your Grenadier

The rear trailing arms sit directly in the firing line when the terrain gets rough.

Rocks, ruts, ledges and deep off-road obstacles can easily damage vulnerable suspension mounting areas and lower arm sections — especially on vehicles that actually get driven properly off-road.

That’s exactly why we engineered these guards.

Designed and manufactured in the UK to ORE’s usual high standards, these heavy-duty rear trailing arm guards provide serious protection for critical rear suspension components without adding unnecessary weight to the vehicle.

Built for real off-road abuse.
Not showroom posing.

Engineered Around Real-World Off-Road Use

This isn’t a cosmetic bolt-on accessory.

Our guards have been tested daily for over 13 months by Grathwaite Adventure on a punishing professional off-road training course used by BORDA instructors, mountain rescue driver training teams and specialist off-road operators.

That means repeated grounding.
Repeated impacts.
Repeated punishment.

Developed through real-world abuse — not theory.

Why ORE Uses Aircraft-Grade Duralumin Construction

Most underbody protection follows one of two routes:

  • lightweight but soft standard aluminium,

  • or extremely heavy stainless steel.

We wanted neither.

That’s why ORE uses aircraft-grade Duralumin alloy — a high-strength aerospace-derived material originally developed for applications where strength, durability and low weight are critical.

Our Duralumin construction is designed to absorb and distribute impact energy properly while maintaining an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio.

The result:

  • Superior energy absorption

  • Greater impact resistance

  • Roughly three times lighter than stainless steel

  • Exceptional strength-to-weight performance

  • Far stronger than standard aluminium

  • Serious protection without excessive vehicle weight

The Grenadier already tips the scales at roughly 2.6–2.8 tonnes before you even start adding roof tents, camping equipment, recovery gear, tools, fuel, spare wheels and everything else that tends to come along for the adventure.

Weight matters.

Especially once you start building the vehicle properly for long-distance travel and serious off-road use.

Inspired by aerospace engineering principles, the material is designed to manage impacts rather than simply transferring shock loads directly into suspension and chassis components.

Strong where it matters.
Light where it counts.

Built for Vehicles That Actually Get Used

Anyone can bolt heavy metal underneath a 4x4.

Proper engineering is about protecting vulnerable components without compromising the way the vehicle drives, articulates, or performs off-road.

That’s the difference.

ORE underbody protection is engineered for Grenadiers that see real terrain, real impacts and real miles.

Not just coffee shop car parks.
