Serious Underbody Protection Without the Weight Penalty

The gearbox, transfer case and exposed fuel pump underneath your Grenadier are some of the most vulnerable — and expensive — components on the vehicle. One badly placed rock strike can ruin a trip very quickly.

That’s exactly why we engineered this guard system.

Designed and manufactured in the UK to ORE’s usual high standards, this heavy-duty underbody protection system shields the ZF 8HP automatic gearbox, Tremec transfer case and exposed fuel pump area from impacts, ruts, rocks, debris and repeated off-road abuse.

But unlike traditional heavy stainless guards, this system uses aircraft-grade Duralumin alloy construction to deliver exceptional impact resistance without adding unnecessary weight underneath the vehicle.

Because there’s no point protecting your Grenadier by turning it into a tank.

 


 

Full Width Protection Where It Actually Matters

Unlike many guards currently on the market, the ORE system is designed to extend fully outward towards the chassis rails rather than simply mounting to the edges and leaving critical subframe and chassis areas exposed.

Many alternative designs only protect the centre section, leaving the surrounding subframe vulnerable to repeated impacts and damage when crossing sharp rocks, ledges and aggressive terrain.

The result?

The guard survives — but the exposed chassis and supporting structure takes the hit instead.

The ORE design approach is different.

By extending protection properly across vulnerable underside areas and integrating additional support structures where required, the system is designed to help shield not only the drivetrain components themselves, but also the surrounding structural areas that often take a battering during serious off-road use.

Because proper underbody protection should protect the whole impact zone — not just the middle of it.

 


 

Additional Fuel Pump Protection

This kit also includes an integrated fuel pump protection guard designed specifically to shield the exposed fuel pump area located between the chassis rail and prop shaft.

The system mounts directly from the main guard and incorporates an additional chassis support bracket paired with a dedicated 6mm Duralumin protection plate for added rigidity and impact resistance in this particularly vulnerable area.

Why ORE Uses Aircraft-Grade Duralumin Construction

Most underbody protection follows one of two routes:

  • lightweight but soft standard aluminium,

  • or extremely heavy stainless steel.

We wanted neither.

That’s why ORE uses aircraft-grade Duralumin alloy — a high-strength aerospace-derived material originally developed for applications where strength, durability and low weight are critical.

Our Duralumin construction is designed to absorb and distribute impact energy properly while maintaining an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio.
